ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Drug Investigation Unit, with the assistance of Canada Post Postal inspectors seized two kilos of cocaine in St. John’s last month and arrested a second suspect Friday.
In connection with the RNC drug investigation unit (DIU)’s Operation Requiem on Sept. 28, officers descended on a residence in the centre city and seized two kilograms of cocaine, according to the news release.
A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene, but was released for further investigation. Charges are pending on that arrest, police say.
Shortly before noon Friday, a 28-year-old man was arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) in connection with Operation Requiem. This man has been held to appear in provincial court.
