CORNER BROOK, N.L. — A woman was rescued after falling into Corner Brook Stream early this morning.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary received a call at 1:24 a.m. that a woman had slipped in the stream at the Corner Brook Stream Trail gorge bridge. The bridge is about two kilometres in on the trail from the Crocker’s Road entrance in Corner Brook.
Police responded to the area, entered the stream and carried the woman out and back onto the bridge.
Members of the Corner Brook Fire Department and Western Health paramedics also responded and the woman was brought out of the trail on a stretcher.
She was taken to Western Memorial Regional Hospital for observation.
