Jason Alexander King appeared by videolink Wednesday morning at Harbour Grace Provincial Court. He’s been in custody for over three months since his arrest March 29 on charges that include attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Defence lawyer Jeffrey Slade told Judge Bruce Short he still needs to have further discussions with Crown prosecutor Erin Matthews and his 45-year-old client. With Harbour Grace Provincial Court closing at the end of this month, King’s case will next be heard Aug. 17 at St. John’s Provincial Court.
King is also charged with two further assault counts, mischief for damaging a cell phone, uttering threats and breach of probation. An earlier court order prohibited him from having contact with the victim, who sustained serious injuries.
King was reportedly an employee of the Dollarama store located in the Bay Roberts Mall when the incident occurred.
