GREAT BREHAT, NL – A visitor from the Arctic has made its way to Great Brehat.
On Monday morning, March 12, Mark Penney spotted a polar bear on an island across the harbour.
Penney saw the animal from his back door in Great Brehat and grabbed his camera, capturing numerous pictures of the animal resting on the island and walking across the harbour.
Polar bears have been plentiful in the Strait of Belle Isle and Northern Peninsula this past week. In that time, previous sightings have been reported in St. Lunaire-Griquet, Red Bay, St. Anthony and Goose Cove.
