Springdale RCMP investigating damage to vehicles in central Newfoundland


Possibly caused by gun, police investigating

SPRINGDALE, NL — Springdale and Grand Falls-Windsor police have received three complaints of damage to vehicles in central Newfoundland this week.

The reports are said to involved damages to windshields/windows as a result of being struck with objects, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The incidents were reported to have occurred near Roberts Arm along Route 380 and in the community of Port Anson, both in the Springdale RCMP detachment area. The third incident is reported to have occurred on the Trans Canada Highway between Catamaran and South Brook.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. No suspects have been identified nor have the damages done been conclusively linked to gun or pellet gunfire, according to a police report. Officers are also investigating the possibility the damage could have been caused by loose salt or sand/gravel on the highway.

No injuries have been reported in connection with these complaints, according to the RCMP.
