One man was taken to hospital with a leg injury Sunday after he was struck by a pickup on Blackmarsh Road.
The collision happened at about 9 p.m. and left the man lying in a snow bank on the side of the road. St. John’s Regional fire department personnel and Eastern Health paramedics treated the victim before placing him on a stretcher to be removed from the scene by ambulance. The pickup truck had stopped nearby and the driver was later questioned by police.
This was the second of two vehicle pedestrian collisions Sunday night.
The first one happened on Bonaventure Avenue about an hour before in front of Holy Heart high school near a crosswalk. No information was available as to the nature of the injuries but they were not thought to be life-threatening.
The RNC is investigating both incidents.
