Cottlesville is a community of around 300 residents. Many of them turned out today, Nov. 11, to take part in the Remembrance Day ceremony.
Following the ceremony and throughout the day, people also visited the town hall, where the Cottlesville War Memorial Committee put together displays featuring information, photos and a number of personal items related to the First and Second World Wars and up through the years to those currently serving in Canada’s military forces.
Most of the items were donated or loaned to the committee by local residents, or came from the private collections of committee members. Anyone with items they think would be fitting to be included in future Remembrance Day displays in Cottlesville is encouraged to contact the committee as they are continuing with this effort and are already planning for Remembrance Day 2018.
The Pilot will feature more from Cottlesville in the coming days.
