On Friday, Nov. 16, St. Anthony RCMP attempted to initiate a traffic stop of a three-wheel ATV with two people on board being operated on the roadway in the community of St. Lunaire-Griquet.
The driver evaded police and proceeded onto a snowmobile trail. A short time later officers entered the trail on foot and located the ATV and two males from St. Lunaire-Griquet.
A 51-year-old man was arrested for flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He faces charges under the Motorized Snow Vehicles and All-Terrain Vehicles Act.
The 48-year-old man was arrested for flight from police, possession of cocaine and will be charged under the Motorized Snow Vehicles and All-Terrain Vehicles Act as well.
Both men were released and will appear in St. Anthony provincial court on April 9 of next year.
