LEWISPORTE, N.L.

Lab and X-ray services are temporarily unavailable at the Lewisporte Health Centre due to an internal water leak.

All visitors to the health facility are being asked to use the the entrance next to the after-hours clinic for the time being, Central Health advised in a public service announcement issued today, Nov. 14.

The facility’s main entrance has been locked for safety reasons until the scope of the water leak has been determined.

The damage is currently being assessed and an update will be provided once a timeline for repairs is available.

Anyone with urgent (stat) lab or X-ray needs, should go to James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander or Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor.

Lab or X-rays testing should be delayed until services resume at the Lewisporte Health Centre if they are not urgent.
