A water line break in the area of a fire hydrant outside Grenfell Campus sent water, sand and rocks flowing over the top of University Drive in Corner Brook on Wednesday afternoon.
The water also flowed over the grounds of the university and down over the road towards the intersection with O’Connell Drive.
The break occurred at around 3:41 p.m. At 4 p.m. the city announced a water outage and road closure for University Drive that would last for six-eight hours while repairs were made.
