Tonight, the stars are gleaming On a lonely, silent grave, Where sleeps in dreamless slumber One we loved but could not save. What would we give your hand to clasp, your patient face to see, To hear your voice, to see your smile, As in the days that used to be. No one knows the silent heartaches, Only those who have lost can tell. Of the grief that's borne in silence For the one we loved so well. You're not forgotten, Carol dear, Nor ever shall you be.
