Predeceased by his parents Albert and Jediah Penney; brothers Boyd (Tass), Eric (Jessie), and sister Laura (Cerrick). Left with many fond, comical and loving memories, his wife Doris of 64 years; children Frank (Gail), Delores (Wayne), Brad (Heather), Angela (Gerry, deceased) and Tanya (Chris); sisters Margaret (Joe), Jean (Eric, deceased), mother-in-law Eva Martin (Frank, deceased), sisters-in-law Bride (Jack, deceased), Fronie (Frank, deceased) and Marina (Harvey); brothers-in-law Gary (Pat), Roland (Val) Elroy; grandchildren Steven (Natasha), Stephanie (Paul), Mandy, Neil, Brandon, Rebecca, Jillian and great grandchild Charlie; special cousin Rita; special friends Lindo/Helen, John/Jean, Emma/Lloyd, Doug/Myrtle. Clyde enjoyed his many years working at Canadian National Railway. In retirement, he and Doris enjoyed their RVing and met many friends; Clyde loved sailing his boat ('The Ancient Mariner'); he was an outgoing man who was interested in everyone's story; he was known as 'the ticket man' in his support of multiple fundraising activities. He was a husband, father and (great) grandfather extraordinaire; his family and friends were his priority (the grandchildren and great grandchild 'Sir Charles' gave him immense delight) but most important to him was Doris; he always called her 'my beautiful wife'. The family wish to express their gratitude for the exemplary care provided by Drs. Brentnall and Stockwell, and to Karen in the office. For those who knew him well 'me say, now' is at rest. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Chapel service took place at Fewer's on January 23/16 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the the NL Division of the Canadian Mental Health Association.
