ENNIS David Joseph Passed peacefully away at home in Toronto on January 8th, 2019 after a long battle with his health issues. David leaves to mourn his partner Emily and her daughter Jennifer. David was predeceased by both parents Charles Ennis and Marion (McLaughlin) Ennis. David leaves to mourn a large number of brothers, sisters and friends and in-laws. David grew up in Bishop’s Falls, Newfoundland and was active in many sports. He particularly enjoyed playing hockey and softball which he continued to play for many decades. David was a proud graduate of St. Michael’s High School. After graduating high school, David moved to Toronto where he worked for a short time before returning to Newfoundland to attend Memorial University. David’s first job after University was as a teacher in Conche, Newfoundland. He always spoke fondly with a smile about his time there. David’s life path took him to work in banking for a short period before returning to live in Toronto. David spent the remainder of his life in Toronto where he had a myriad of friends, interests and careers. David was active in the “Downhomer Magazine” for which he wrote regular columns in the early days of the Magazine. David always cherished his visits back home to Newfoundland. David is missed by all of those who knew him. Dave’s ashes were returned to Newfoundland and spread as per his wishes on August 25th, 2019. RIP Dave.
