Obituary for Edwin Short EDWIN COLE SHORT 1937 – 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edwin Short announces his passing at his home in Beaumont on July 12, 2011 at the age of 74. Edwin was a member of the Long Island Community Council for several years. Edwin retired from fishing. Predeceased by father, Cecil; mother, Beatrice and sister, Doris. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife, Salome; sons: Derrick (Pauline) of Springdale and Paul of Dieppe, NB.; daughter Sidonie of St. John’s. Also leaving to mourn sister, Phyllis Parsons; grandchildren, Melody Short, Casey Short, Chloe North, great granddaughter Aubrey Lynn, 5 nieces, 3 nephews and friends, especially life long friend Harold Paddock. Rev. George Gard conducted the funeral service from the United Church on July 16, 2011. Interment was at the United Cemetery in Beaumont. Pallbearers were Vaden Burton, Bob Ryan, Rex Paddock, Gerard Dunphy, Claude Oake and Robert Hiscock.
