OBITUARY Gertrude ”Lorraine” Collins Passed away peacefully, Nov. 22, 2016, Gertrude “Lorraine” Collins nee Manuel. She was 94.Born Exploits Islands, NL. Nov. 12, 1922, Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Flossie and Arch Manuel, her siblings Alice, Herb, Una, lily and Ella. Her husband William Clifford “Cliff” Collins of Spaniard’s Bay NL., passed in 2006 at which time, Mom returned home to Newfoundland. Lorraine leaves behind 3 children, and 5 great grandchildren Also left to mourn are sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Mom was always active in the church, as a Sunday school teacher, organist and elder. She started her teaching career in Smith’s Hr., then Fredericton and Mount Moriah and never stopped teaching us of the good things in life. Even in her 70’s, Mom drove for Windsor Meals on Wheels, delivering hot meals and warn friendship to those less able. Cremation has taken place at her request.A quiet ceremony for family and friends is planned for 2017. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to any of her chosen charities, United Church of Canada (Riverside United, Windsor, ON., Emmanuel United Gambo, NL.), Heart and Stroke Foundation or Meals on Wheels. A special bouquet goes out to the capable and loving staff of Lakeside Homes, Gander. She was an angel on Earth, Now an angel in Heaven. George, Don and Lori
