Major Calvin Frederick Layte July 21, 1937 – July 24, 2017 Major Calvin Layte was promoted to glory on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, at the age of 80. Calvin, beloved husband of Mae (nee Russell) for 57 years. Loving father of Brian of Fevershan, ON, Beverley (Chris) Ranger of Calgary, AB and Bruce (Patti) of Okotoks, AB, dear Grampa of Evan, Jessica, Katelyn, Austin, Alexis, Taylor, Mya, Brendan and the late Samantha, and brother Frank (Elsie). Calvin is predeceased by his parents Selena and Fred Layte, brother Morgan, father and mother-in-law George and Lillian Russell. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Louise, nieces, nephews and many friends. Major Calvin served faithfully with the Salvation Army across Canada for 50 years. Committal to take place at a later date. Donations made to the General and Marine Hospital Dialysis Unit would be appreciated.
