Obituary for Mamie Weir MAMIE GWENDOLYN WEIR 1927 – 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mamie Weir announces her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on May 26, 2011 at the age of 83. Mamie was a member of the United Church. Mamie retired from S.T. Jones and Sons, Little Bay Islands. Predeceased by her husband Eric on May 23, 1983. Left with fond and loving memories is her children: David (Rowena) of Springdale, Colin (Rosalind) of Springdale, Diane Oxford (Edward) of Thompson, MB., Jim (Cynthia) of Iqaluit, NU.and Suzanne Tucker (Melvin) of St. Patrick’s. Also leaving to mourn brother George Weir, seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Reverend Catherine Gutjahr conducted the funeral service from the Grace United Church in Springdale on May 29, 2011. Interment was at the United Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Oxford, Joey Roberts, Melvin Tucker, Michael Tucker, Deon and Dion Weir. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
