HINCHEY Morgan Thomas On December 28, 1926, Morgan Thomas Hinchey was born in Northern Bay, NL. On November 4, 2019, in his 93rd year and after a long and fulfilling life, Morgan passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander. He was predeceased by parents John and Bridget (McDonald), brothers James (Ellen), William (Jane), and Patrick (Caroline), and sisters Madeline, Mary Noonan (Mike) and Agatha. Leaving to mourn, with loving memories, wife Margaret (Ducey), son John (Krista Stack), daughters Carol Hinchey (David Harnum), Anne (Rex Woodford) and Mary and son Patrick. Also mourning his passing are sisters Helen Hinchey and Angela Philpott (Myles - deceased), cherished Grandchildren Andy (Valerie Griffiths), Rebecca (Jordan Dyke) and Aaron Woodford and Kiley and Lauren Hinchey; treasured Great Grandchildren Abigaile Murphy Woodford and George Morgan Dyke. He also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. Also, left to mourn are in-laws Loretta Byrne, Adrian and Bride Ducey, John and Anne Ducey and Barbara Carey and very special friend Nana Eileen Stack. After completing his Grade XII at St. Bon's School in St. John's, Morgan moved to Gander in 1947 and began to work as a clerk with the Newfoundland Government. He retired in 1985, after completing a 38 year career in the Finance Department of Transport Canada at the Gander International Airport. Morgan was a pioneer resident of Gander and a very loyal and dedicated citizen. He was a devoted and faithful member of St. Joseph's Parish and served on a team of the Treasury Committee. Morgan was a very loving and devoted father and grandfather and there was no bigger fan than 'Pop Hinchey'! Resting at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander with visitation from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm Thursday, November 7, 2019. Funeral Mass to be held Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1 pm at St. Joseph's Church, Gander. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Parish, Gander or to a charity of one's choice.
