Reginald Victor Weir January 02, 1922 - September 09, 2017 Passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Center, Grand Falls-Windsor, Mr. Reginald Victor Weir, aged 95 years. He is predeceased by his parents, James and Elsie; wife, Laura; brothers, Eric (Mamie), Roland; sister, Dora. Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his children, Harvey (Gail), Joyce (Vincent Verge), Joan (Edward Downton), Robert (Joyce), Garland (Cathy), Vera (Kevin Snow), Judy (Alton Locke); 15 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 23 great -grandchildren; brothers, Wilbert (Marie), Gordon (Hazel), Roy (Carol), Avice (Walter Mesh); sister-in–law, Marjorie (Ron Tucker); special friends, David and Ann Rowsell, and Woodrow Philpott; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Public visitation took place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Tuesday, September 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, September 13th from 10 -11:30 a.m. The funeral service took place from St. Matthews United Church, Lewisporte, NL on Wednesday, September 13th at 1 p.m. The interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center or the South and Central Health Care Foundation would be gratefully accepted. The Family would like to send a special thank-you out to the staff at the Springdale Hospital, Central NL Regional Health Care Center, and the Twin Town Manor.
