I would like to ask a question of our newly elected MPs: will you vote along party lines no matter what, or will you vote to make Canada a better place to live?

This last election has pulled Canada apart, if the analysts are correct.

In my view, partisan politics are not productive. I would like to see the oil flowing, the grain trains running, and the economy booming, all with an eye to protecting the environment and reducing carbon emissions.

Does this seem like wishful thinking?

I think not, given the science, technology and expertise residing in our country — but only if all political parties co-operate and move on from purely partisan politics.

I challenge every politician to work for the well-being of the Country. Parties working together for the good of Canada can achieve the impossible. But working against each other and engaging in purely partisan politics will do so much less for our future.
