Sharing an interest in Port Albert

Dear Editor: I would like to take this opportunity to express a sincere thank you for the excellent article you wrote on The Port Albert Project, and which appeared in the 26 September edition of The Pilot. The interest shown in the story behind the creation of the website allowed the Port Albert Project to be shared with your readers, both in paper format and on the Internet. There have been many favourable responses to the article, both written and via phone, from people all across Canada and even into the United States. Many of the responses have expressed appreciation at the concept and purpose of the website, and it only reaffirms what I have always believed, and that is that there are others who hold Port Albert very near and dear to their hearts.

Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to express a sincere thank you for the excellent article you wrote on The Port Albert Project, and which appeared in the 26 September edition of The Pilot.

As was mentioned in the article, the main purpose for the site is to preserve some of the history of the community before it is forever lost. There are a wealth of stories and memories attached to Port Albert, and I would like to get them documented and preserved, so that in years to come, people can have an idea on how things used to be. A person doesn't have to be an "old timer" to share a story with the rest of us. I would invite submissions from young and old alike, as each generation has it's own special memories about the place where they grew up.

Again, I would like to thank you for all of your help in getting the story of The Port Albert Project out to your readers, and I encourage folks to keep visiting the site as there will be more things added to the site over the coming months. I'd like to close my short letter by taking this opportunity to say a warm hello to all my family and friends back home in Newfoundland and especially Port Albert. Thank you for all of your contributions and feedback as without you, there wouldn't be a Port Albert Project.

Warmest wishes,

Terry Alexander
