GANDER, NL – While they don’t get to play together as often as they would like, members of the Senior Male B – Tier 1 team Baie Verte Gander (BVG) claimed their second consecutive championship at the recent NLVA Molson Senior Provincials in Gander.

The nine-player team, consisting of Baie Verte and Gander residents, went throughout the entire tournament without losing a match, winning all six to make the finals.
The championship match was a hard-fought battle against Sherwood Suites, which went to a third set with the BVG edging out a 16-14 victory.
For a group that only plays together a few times a year, team member Mark Burton is quite pleased to claim back-to-back titles.
“It was a hard match, but it was a lot of fun,” he said, adding that communication between the players was key to securing the win.
