The Bruce II Sports complex has been declared autism friendly, says Joan Chaisson, co-founder of Autism Involves Me (AIM).

In order to receive the designation, employees received autism awareness training. Staff also developed a specialized swimming program for autism and a Sunshine Bowling League to embrace all people with challenges.

The sports centre has also partnered with AIM to develop a sensory gym for all pre-schoolers and children in the area with autism or other sensory needs.
Kris Bragg of Kris’ Kustoms donated a sign for the Bruce II to display for its guests.
