Caribous prevail over Cataracts in Clarenville

CLARENVILLE, N.L. — The Clarenville Ford Caribous hosted the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts at the Eastlink Events Centre (EEC) Saturday night, winning the matchup 5-1.

The Cats opened the scoring late in the first period with a goal by Brandon Bussey.

However, midway through the second period, the Caribous scored the first of five unanswered goals to win the game.

Brad Crann scored twice, while Keith Delaney, Jordan Kennedy and Kenny Mahoney each scored one goal.

Clarenville outshot the Cats 35-24.

The Caribous will face the first place Gander Flyers 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the EEC.
