GLOVERTOWN, NL – It was tough loss for the Central Ice Pak in last weekend’s AAA Midget female hockey championship.
The tournament was a best-two-out-of-three championship. After its earlier ranking, Central raced Tri Pen for two wins in three games for bronze, while Western took on Eastern for two wins over the gold medal.
Tri Pen defeated Central 3-1 Saturday morning.
On Saturday afternoon, an energetic and accurate Tri-Pen Ice turned it up a notch and defeated the Ice Pak 8-1.
The only goal for the Ice Pak came in period three from Glovertown’s Brooklyn Blackwood, assisted by Lewisport’s Jayden Oake.
Player of the game went to Grand-Falls-Winsor’s Maggie Horward, who worked hard throughout the game.
