GANDER, NL – From one game to the next there’s never any certainties in hockey, and Game 2 of the Central West Senior Hockey League finals Sunday afternoon certainly proved that.
The Gander Flyers were soaring high after its 7-5 win on Saturday night but Caribous upped their physical game to nail down an 8-2 victory.
In the first period, the caribous saw a hat trick from Kevin Reid, and a single from Justin Pender.
Patty O’Keefe scored the Flyers' only goal of the period.
In the second period, the Caribous continued to add to their lead, with singles from Chad Earle, Dustin Russell, and another from Reid - his fourth for the game.
The Flyers picked up another point in the period, with a goal from captain Mitch Oake.
In the third Reid provided his fifth goal of the game to shore up a 8-2 win for the Caribous.
The best-of-seven series, now tied at 1-1, continues next weekend in Clarenville, with games on March 17 and 18.
