SPRINGDALE, NL — The Springdale Braves will have to wait a little longer before their chance to even up the Green Bay Cup.

Down 1-0 to the Triton Combines in the neighbouring town’s best of five rivalry hockey series, the Braves are hoping home ice advantage will help.
However, the game originally scheduled for Friday is postponed. No date has been set for Game 2.

If Springdale will win a third consecutive Green Bay Cup title, their first home game will be a near must-win.

The Combines opened the series with a 7-6 overtime win in Triton Jan. 5. The home team had a balanced offensive attack with six players netting goals. Springdale relied on its big guns for offence, with Trentan Johanson and Scott Doody combining for five goals.

The Braves have won both times since their rejuvenation three years ago.
