TRITON, NL — Ethan Simms is hoping the past eight years of honing his hockey talent will earn him a spot on Team Newfoundland and Labrador.

The 12-year-old started playing a month after turning four, improving his game while playing for the Green Bay South Wildcats until last season.
The left winger began playing for the Central IcePak AAA peewee team last year.

Ethan says he loves playing AAA hockey, learning more about the game and being challenged. He says he enjoys meeting new people, but his favorite part of hockey is travelling.
In May 2017, he travelled to Ontario with Impact Hockey, where they won platinum gold.
This May, he is travelling to Montreal and playing in the Montreal Super Challenge with a 2005 team and in July, will travel to Vermont with the Bantam travel team. Both trips are with the Impact Hockey program.

Ethan plays other sports, but says he lives and breathes hockey. If he’s not on the ice, he’s outside shooting pucks or watching his favorite team, the Boston Bruins, on television.

He hopes to one day attend a prep school out of the province.
