In what some may call the perfect start to their first home series of the season, the Grand Falls-Windsor Blades hit the ground running for their homecoming against the Straight Shore Beothics on Saturday night. Multi-point nights from Shawn Loveridge, Brandon Jewer and Neil Oake lifted the Blades to a commanding 7-2 victory over the Beothics in game one of the series.
Sunday's matinee game was another strong display of grit, perseverance and teamwork as the Blades ground their way to a solid 5-3 win, their second straight victory against the Beothics. Toope's multi-point night, along with goals from Neil Oake, Brad “Manzy” Manuel, Noah Kelly, and Andrew “Zeus” Little improved the Blades' overall record to 2-2 on the season.
The Blades are back on home ice again on Saturday, Nov. 17, when they host the Springdale Braves. Warm-ups begin at 7:30pm. Puck drops at 7:45pm.
