Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts and Gander Flyers tied in Central Division finals

The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts and Gander Flyers had a weekend home-and-home Central West Senior Hockey League series over the weekend. The Cataracts swept the two games by scores of 9-6 and 6-3.

GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. — Predictions of a close series between the Gander Flyers and the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts, in the Central Division finals of the Newfoundland Senior Hockey League are proving to hold true.

After the first two games in the best-of-seven series last weekend, the Flyers and Cataracts came out tied at a game apiece. Grand Falls-Windsor claimed the first victory, 4-3, and Gander took the second game 6-4.

The action shifts to Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium in Grand Falls-Windsor for games three and four on Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10.

The series winner will go on to represent the Central West Senior Hockey League against the East Coast Senior Hockey League champs for a shot at the Herder Memorial Trophy.
