Ricky Canning and Darren Dean both scored twice for the Port aux Basques Mariners on Saturday night as they trounced the Stephenville Jets 10-1 in action from the West Coast Senior Hockey League at the Stephenville Dome.
Greg Edgar, Andrew Clarke, Triston Johansson, Robbie Greene, Scott Francis, and Luke Parsons also found the back of the net for the Mariners.
Nathan Ellsworth was the lone marksman for the Jets.
The Mariners held a 4-0 lead after the first period, and went up 6-0 in the second before Ellsworth got the Jets on the board. The second frame closed out with the Mariners up 8-1.
Friday night’s scheduled game between the Jets and Corner Brook Royals was postponed due to poor weather.
