N.L.’s female hockey champions to be decided this weekend

Roughly 1,100 female hockey players will be competing for 10 provincial championships around Newfoundland and Labrador this weekend, March 23-25.

Clarenville, Marystown and Gander will play host to the under-12 tournaments, featuring a total of 23 teams.

Stephenville, Bonavista, Grand Falls-Windsor and Cee Bees will host a total of 25 teams in the under-15 age category.

The total of 20 teams will take part in the under-20 tournaments, which will be hosted by Gros Morne, Conception Bay Regional and St. Anthony.

A complete list of players, statistics, schedules and results for this weekend is available at Hockey NL’s provincial tournament website at http://www.hnlprovincials.ca/.

There were over 2,000 registrants for female hockey in Newfoundland and Labrador this past hockey season.
