ST. ANTHONY, NL – Community members across the Great Northern Peninsula made their way down to St. Anthony last Saturday for Minor Hockey Week.
The St. Anthony Polars and Straits Rifters played two back-to-back games.
The opening ceremony for Minor Hockey Week had been planned for St. Anthony’s Polar Centre the previous weekend but due to the rough weather that hit the west coast it was cancelled.
While organizers felt it was unfortunate St. Anthony didn’t get to host the ceremony and kick off the week, the scheduled games still went ahead on Saturday, January 20.
