Brooklyn Childs has added a silver medal to her collection of hockey medals.
The Corner Brook native, along with Kailey Genge of Anchor Point and Carmen Elliott of Stephenville, helped Team Newfoundland and Labrador earn the silver medal in the U18 female bracket at the 2018 Atlantic Challenge Cup in Moncton over the Thanksgiving Weekend.

Childs, who had two points in five games, had an assist in the gold-medal showdown that saw Team Newfoundland lose 7-3 to Nova Scotia.
Genge and Elliott both had one assist in five games.
Team NL, with a 1-1-1 round-robin record, earned a berth in the championship game as a result of a slim 3-2 decision over Team New Brunswick in semifinal play.
Gia Caul of Stephenville and Samantha Trask of Stephenville Crossing came up short in the silverware department after Team NL lost 5-0 Prince Edward Island in the bronze-medal game in the U16 female bracket in Moncton.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s only win in the U16 female bracket came by way of a 2-1 victory over Prince Edward Island in the tournament opener, but Caul had a pretty good tournament with one of the four goals the team could muster in a showcase of the best players in the Atlantic provinces.
Caul was chosen player of the game for Team NL in the bronze-medal game and won the player-of-the game award with her goal in a 6-2 loss to Nova Scotia in round-robin play.
Trask, playing prep school hockey in Ontario this winter, was held off the scoresheet for Team NL.
Team NL finished with an 0-5 record in the U14 male championship with Spencer Caines among the team’s top scorers with two goals and one assist in five games in his first shot at representing his province at an elite showcase event.
