Western Kings drop a pair to St. John's Maple Leafs

The Western Kings were beaten twice on a weekend road trip on Saturday and Sunday in action from the Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League.

On Saturday, the St. John’s Maple Leafs doubled up the Kings 4-2 at the Glacier in Mount Pearl.

Alexander French, Alex Doody, Brandon Knight and Paul Norman got on the board for the Leafs.

For the Kings, it was Noah Legge and Lucas Robinson filling the net.

Andrew Curtis earned the win in net, with Lucas Wiseman taking the loss.

On Sunday, the Leafs shut out the Kings 5-0, with goals coming from Norman, Regan Seymour, Will Williams, Tanner Humber-Dredge, and Andrew Howell.

Evan Martin was flawless in goal in the victory, while Lucas Park suffered the defeat.

Peewee AAA

In the provincial peewee AAA league, the Kings dropped three games to the TriCom Thunder at the Gros Morne Arena.

On Saturday, the Kings were thumped 7-0 in the weekend series opener, before being edged 5-4 in an evening game.

On Sunday, the Thunder picked up a 5-3 win over the Kings.
