Honours keep rolling in for Memorial Sea-Hawks runner Jade Roberts

It’s been quite a week for Jade Roberts. And it isn’t even over.

The Memorial University Sea-Hawks runner won her first Atlantic University Sport race over the weekend, finishing ahead of more than 50 other athletes to capture the conference female cross-country championship at Fredericton, N.B.

That earned her AUS 2019 female cross-country athlete of the year award, a conference all-star selection and a berth at the national U Sports championships in Kingston, Ont., early next month.

On Monday, the Twillingate native was named Memorial’s female athlete of the week and on Tuesday, she was announced as the conference female athlete of the week.

Another cross-country runner, Levi Moulton, was Memorial’s male athlete of the week. Moulton was fifth in the men’s division of the AUS championship, also making him a conference all-star and securing the Paradise native a place in Kingston at the national university championship.Still to come: Roberts turns 23 on Thursday and on Saturday, she interviews in support of her application to enter Memorial’s medical school.
