All four Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League teams that were  in action over the weekend picked up a victory as series splits were the order of the day.

In Paradise and Mount Pearl, the league-leading Pinnacle Growlers and Tri-Pen Osprey split games, as did the East Coast Blizzard and Central Impact at the Windsor Stadium in central Newfoundland.

At The Glacier in Mount Pearl Sunday, the Osprey scored two third-period goals to beat the Growlers 5-3. Matthew King led the winners with two goals. Singles came from Dylan Hartson, Christian Reardon and Dawson Crane. Liam Bridger, Brett Hudson and Kyle Martell replied.

Saturday at the Paradise Double Ice Complex, Bridger scored twice and Tanner Humber-Dredge had a goal and two assists in the Growlers’ 7-1 win. Hudson, Nathan Flynn, Reegan Hiscock and Andrew Veitch had the other Growlers’ goals. Reed Spencer and Alex French both collected two assists. Evan Tucker had the only Tri-Pen goal.

In Windsor Sunday, the Blizzard beat Central 5-2 following a 4-2 Central win Saturday. In that one, Luke Hurley led the Impact with two goals. Ryan Hoskins and Edsel Galway each scored once. Patrick Beer and Ethan Moore had the Blizzard goals.

It was a bye week for the Western Kings.
