Happy Valley-Goose Bay U17 boys team wins gold at Lab City soccer tournament

The Under 17 Boys All Star Soccer Team won the gold medal against Labrador City. Members of the team are: Cole Bent, Colson Groves, Eric Goudie, Ryan Tee, Mark Canning, Shannon Penney, Brady Coles, David Roberts, Reid Neville, Nathan Montague, Keaton Barry, Ralph Dredge, Colton Hillier, Kobe Groves, Tyler Matthews, Craig Colbourne and Will Simms.
The Under 17 Boys All Star Soccer Team won the gold medal against Labrador City. The Under 17 Boys All Star Soccer Team from Happy Valley-Goose Bay earned gold medals with a 1-0 score over Labrador City in the championship ship match at a tournament in Harbour Grace recently.

Colton Hillier was the hero for the team, with the winning kick to claim the Newfoundland & Labrador Soccer Association Under 17 Boys All Star title.

The Team Manager for the Under 17 Boys, Nancy Matthews, told The Labradorian the tournament was very well organised, with great playing fields and a comfortable area for spectators to watch and cheer.

“Big thanks go out to our coaching staff. Tim Groves, the Head Coach and Steve Colbourne, our Assistant Coach,” adds Matthews.
