It might not get there this year, but Tely 10 is very close to 5,000-runner mark

As of Wednesday, 4,838 participants had registered for the race, and organizers were expected to see a number of late registrants before Sunday morning’s 8 o’clock start.
Last year’s race drew 4,912 total entries. Never in the history of the Tely 10 has it drawn 5,000, though it’s evident the race is on the cusp of surpassing that number.
The race follows the standard course — starting on McNamara Road, close to the Paradise Youth and Community Centre, and proceeding out Topsail Rd., Cornwall Ave., Lemarchant Rd., Harvey Rd., Queens Rd., Military Rd. and finishing across the street from Bannerman Park swimming pool.
As of Thursday, the forecast for Sunday was a chance of showers and temperatures just under 20 degrees.
Organizers are encouraging participants to keep hydrated on the course. Seven water stations are set up on the course, at approximately the 2.5-mile, 3.9-mile, 5-mile, 7.5-mile and nine-mile points.
