Katarina Roxon had to withdraw from her final event, but she made sure she had a handful of medals before leaving Japan.

Roxon, a fixture on the international para-swimming scene, picked up three medals at the 2018 Japan Para Swimming Championships over the weekend.

The Kippens native, in an international invitational meet with the world’s best in the mix, won gold in the 100-m breaststroke — by far her most favourite event.

She also picked up a bronze medal in both the 200-m Individual Medley (IM) and 400-m freestyle.

Roxon had to bail on the 100-m freestyle, scheduled for Monday, after catching a nasty flu bug.

She is resting up before she heads to Australia for a four-week training cycle that will culminate with her participating in the Australian national championships in October.
