CHICAGO – Leo Papail finished ahead of more than 44,500 other runners at the Chicago Marathon this month.
The Lord’s Cove native completed the Oct. 8 race in two hours and 50 minutes, a personal best, placing him 373rd overall and in the top 10 for Canadians at the event.
Papail, who now lives in Beeton, Ont., also ran a cross-country race in Toronto on Oct. 1, finishing third overall, and will be competing in the cross-country nationals in Kingston, Ont. on Nov. 24.
Next year he plans on running the marathons in Berlin and New York City.
