Early morning rises.

Long hours of twists and turns on a sheet of ice.

Falls, bumps and bruises to show for the times things didn’t go as planned.

Big smiles and a sense of satisfaction of nailing the big jump you had been working on for months.

After another year of working on their skills members of the Silver Blades Skating Club gathered together for an awards ceremony at the club’s year-end brunch held recently in Corner Brook.

Several skaters with the club picked up awards at the year-end event including Jillian Andrews, winner of the Joan Targett Scholarship, and Grace Pye, who was chosen most dedicated competitive skater and winner of the Maude Fraser Scholarship.
