Western Wolves take gold in Tier 2 provincial 15U male soccer league

The BMO Western Wolves downed St. John’s Academy 2-1 on Sunday to capture the gold medal of the Tier 2 provincial 15U male soccer league.

Keegan Piercey and Jordan Dicks Park provide the goals for the Wolves on their home field of the Wellington Street Sports Complex.

Bashar Heddo was the lone goalscorer for the losing side.

Heddo actually struck first, putting St. John’s on the board in the 10th minute of the game.

The score remained the same until the 67th minute, when Dicks Park found the back of the net to even the game.

Piercey than put home the winner in the 73rd to secure the gold medal.

In their other game over the weekend, Colton March scored in the 57th minute as the Wolves blanked Paradise 1-0.

Other scores from the weekend were: St. John’s Academy 1, Burin Peninsula 0; and Burin Peninsula 3, Paradise 2.
