PORT AUX BASQUES, N.L. – There were two hometown teams instead of one, and together they bookended the 14 and under softball tournament held on the July 20-21 weekend.
Port aux Basques Team 1 remained undefeated throughout the tournament, knocking off second place Isle aux Morts by a score of 11 to 4 in the gold medal game, which was held in the Codroy Valley on Saturday.
The Corner Brook team went home with a bronze medal, edging out Port aux Basques Team 2 by a score of 10 to 9.
Port aux Basques will play its next tournament on Aug. 11 in Corner Brook.
