P.E.I.'s Noah Dobson earns assist in NHL debut with New York Islanders

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Noah Dobson made his National Hockey League regular-season debut with the New York Islanders on Tuesday night.

The 19-year-old son of Andrew and Jenny Dobson of Summerside earned an assist in the Islanders’ 5-2 home-ice loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

Dobson, who was selected 12th overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Islanders, and Casey Cizikas set up Matt Martin’s goal at 13:32 of the third period.

Dobson played a total of 18:50, registered three shots on goal, two hits, had one giveaway and finished with a plus-1 rating.
