The Silver Wings Skating Club out of the Bonavista area were represented at the 2019 Eastern Divisional Competition at the Glacier in Mount Pearl earlier this month with five figure skaters at the event.
The skaters, with their respective division were as follows:
• Sarah Boyce, Star 5 U13
• Gracie Hadley-Roberts, Star 4 U13
• Jennifer Hiscock, Star 6 and Star 7
• Emma Butler, Star 5 Over 13
• Patricia Maloney, Star 6 and Star 7
The top eight skaters in each division move on to the Skate Canada Newfoundland and Labrador (SCNL) Provincial Championships which take place in Gander in February.
Hiscock received a bronze medal at the Eastern Divisionals in both the Star 6 and Star 7 category and will represent Silver Wings at the Provincials.
Maloney placed seventh in the Star 7 category and Butler placed fourth in the Star 5 Over 13 and both will also represent Silver Wings at the Provincials.
