West coast runners take home three provincial banners, including three for Stephenville

STEPHENVILLE, N.L. — It was a clean sweep for western Newfoundland junior and senior high school teams at the provincial varsity cross-country running championships held in Marystown recently.

The teams representing Stephenville High School took home championship banners in the junior girls, as well as senior girls and senior boys divisions. Corner Brook Intermediate emerged as champions in the junior boys category.

In individual racing, Faith LeDrew of St. Peter's Academy in Humber Arm South won the junior girls title.

Junior boys: Sam Ruttgaizer (Pearce Junior High, Burin)

Senior girls: Georgie Lee (Gonzaga Regional High, St. John's)

Senior boys: Cabhan O'Keefe (Clarenville High)
