REGIONAL FORECAST: Sept. 19, 2019

Hurricane Humberto is expected to enter Canadian waters as a category 1 Hurricane. Fortunately, the cold, blocking high-pressure system will keep the storm south of Sable, then south of the Avalon Saturday. Two to three-metre sea swells will reach the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia tomorrow; 3-5 metre swells are expected along Newfoundland’s south coast on Saturday.

SW COAST:

  • WIND: Light becoming NE 15 knots in the evening
  • WAVES: 1 metre building to 2 to 3 metres in the afternoon

SOUTH COAST:

  • WIND: Light becoming NE 15 to 20 knots in the evening
  • WAVES: 1 metre building to 2 to 3 metres in the afternoon

EAST COAST- CAPE ST FRANCIS + SOUTH:

  • WIND: SW 10 to 15 knots backing to SE 15 knots in the evening
  • WAVES: 2 to 3 metres

  • WIND: Light increasing to W 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon
  • WAVES: 1 metre

SOUTH COAST:

  • WIND: Light becoming W 15 knots in the afternoon
  • WAVES: 1 metre

EAST COAST- CAPE ST FRANCIS + SOUTH:

  • WIND: N 20 knots backing to W 15 knots in the morning then to SW 15 knots in the evening
  • WAVES: 3 to 4 metres
