NAIN, N.L. – Jeffery Solomon Millie of Nain was arrested and charged for allegedly intimidating court witnesses in an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of alcohol in the community June 12.
According to a RCMP release, the 30-year-old was released from custody and is scheduled back in provincial court on Sept. 5
Nain RCMP are trying to stop the illegal sale of alcohol.
The release noted the penalty for bootlegging liquor under the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Act can be as high as $50,000 or imprisonment for up to two years, or both a fine and imprisonment.
Police say more charges are expected to be laid as the investigation continues.
